MACKERNIUM® SDC 85 is a high-active, flaked form of stearalkonium chloride, designed for easier handling compared to low-active pastes. At a concentration of less than 2%, it provides essential conditioning and improved compatibility for hair conditioners. It is compatible with various conditioning additives commonly used in hair care products, such as proteins, jojoba oil, and aloe vera. MACKERNIUM® SDC 85 contains no preservatives and is produced from a blend of synthetic and vegetable-derived raw materials, with no animal derivatives. This product includes 10% propylene glycol and some cetearyl alcohol to facilitate manufacturing. Formulation Tips
  • Mackernium SDC-85 will require heat to incorporate. 80°C until dissolved is recommended and do not exceed 90°C.
  • Can use one- or two-phase processing.
  • For one phase processing, add to the water with other heat tolerant ingredients and while mixing, heat until 80°C or until dissolved. Cool while mixing moderately to <35°C before filling,
  • For two-phase processing, add to the oil phase and heat both phases to 80°C before combining. Cool while mixing moderately to <35°C before filling.
