MACKESTER® EGMS is a grade of ethylene glycol monostearate designed for cosmetic formulations. It functions as an opacifier and pearlizing agent in lotions, creams, shampoos, and hand cleansers. As a low HLB emulsifier, it stabilizes oil-in-water (O/W) and water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions. MACKESTER® EGMS is soluble in hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, and chlorinated hydrocarbons, but insoluble in water. It is fully biodegradable and preservative-free.
