MACKESTER® GSTP is a high-purity grade of ethylene glycol monostearate synthesized for cosmetic formulations. With a slightly lower melting point, it allows for easier incorporation into various products. MACKESTER® GSTP functions as an excellent opacifier and pearlizing agent for lotions, creams, shampoos, and hand cleansers. It also acts as a low HLB emulsifier and emulsion stabilizer for both oil-in-water (O/W) and water-in-oil (W/O) systems. Soluble in hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, and chlorinated hydrocarbons but insoluble in water, MACKESTER® GSTP is fully biodegradable and contains no preservatives Please submit a document request or general inquiry form if you’d like to access an SDS in another language.

Formulation Tips
  • Requires heat to incorporate and 65 - 70°C until dissolved is recommended.
  • Cool slowly while mixing gently for optimum pearl.
  • Usage level between 0.5 - 5.0%.

  • MACKESTER® GSTP should be stored in sealed containers or bags below 30°C in a dry place out of direct sunlight. Handle between 10°C - 30°C. Avoid prolonged exposure to heating as this may lead to degradation.
